The packaging of this palette is gorgeous! It’s hard to tell from the photos, but the headdress, tops of the eyelids and writing, shimmer in the light. I’m not sure if this is just the colours settling into my skin or if the glitter disappears after some time? The only thing I noticed is while colours stay pigmented, the shimmer seems dull slightly. The shadows in this palette last a really long time. With the pure glitter Cosmo, I recommend adding some glitter glue or an eyeshadow base/sealer to make the glitter come out as bold as possible and stay intact. Adding a layer of Twilight for example on top of Amethyst adds a nice shimmer with an iridescent blue/green glow in the light, taking it to the next level! The great thing about this palette is that the colours combine so well to create a new depth or shade of colour. In saying this, the more “buttery” the texture of the shadow, the more prone it was to fallout – nothing too severe, but handle with care. This is likely due to the drier texture of the mattes when compared to the pearl and duo chromes which were softer and “buttery” in texture. Some of the matte colours (notably Amethyst, Eden and Musk) did apply a little patchy on my arm swatch and required multiple layers to build to the desired pigment. That’s it for today.Three duo-chrome toppers and one pure glitter (Cosmo):Ī good 70% of the shadows in this palette are highly pigmented and super easy to apply and blend. This palette combines practicality and aesthetic. Moreover, I think you get a considerable amount of product for the price.Īdditionally, I think this palette is perfect for travelling because of its size and shape, because there’s a mirror and because you can create diverse looks. I definitely think this palette is worth those 65$ because the formula is amazing, the shades are exceptional and the packaging is just breath-taking. Each has 1.4g of product and the palette contains a big mirror. This palette consists of 18 eyeshadows: 8 matte, 6 pressed pearls, 3 duo-chrome toppers and 1 glitter. ![]() The only downside is that this palette is very messy, so you really gotta take care when you apply the glitter or the chrome shades, they just go all over the place. On a side note, the duo-chrome toppers are meant to be worn on top of another eyeshadow and they look just gorgeous. With this palette, you can create a full look and you can go for different styles: you have transition shades, you have dark and light colors to create beautiful contrasts and you have shimmers to give life to your eye makeup look.Ĭoncerning the forumla, the eyeshadows are very pigmented and blend very easily and nicely however they are very powdery so there’s a lot of fall outs. As a matter of fact, I mainly wanted this palette for those amazing shimmer/glitter/duo-chrome toppers and I must say, I am not disappointed! I love the shades of this palette I love the warm-toned colors, the matte shades are stunning and the shimmers/metallic/glitter are to die for. There’s nothing special in the back of the palette, it’s pretty basic: black with the information written in white. The palette is made out of cardboard and the closure is magnetic, it also feels very heavy hence luxurious. In general, the packaging IS ON POINT and is amazing to keep in your makeup collection. On top of that, the packaging is neat and when you open the palette, there’s a sort of transparent bronzed plastic paper that protects the eyeshadow and which has the eyes of Huda as well. I am in love with Huda’s face on the front cover, I love how the eyeshadow and diamonds are sort of luminous according to the light and I love the fact that the name is in 3D, it feels so nice to the touch and in general the palette feels so soft. I honestly love the packaging so freaking much, it’s very simple, chic, unique and has this middle-eastern vibe which I love. ![]() I actually did a poll on Instagram asking you if you wanted me to do a review on this palette and most of you answered ‘Yes’ so here it is!!!! So today I am to do a review on Huda’s newest eyeshadow palette: Desert Dusk.
